Ferrari World Abu Dhabi will be "state of the art"
21 Mar 2010
Constructed on Yas Island - home to golf courses, luxury villas and mega-malls - on the north-east side of Abu Dhabi's mainland and about ten minutes' drive from the emirate's airport, it is owned by Aldar Properties and will be managed and operated by Farah Leisure Parks, a joint venture between ProFun Management and Aldar.
More information on the park's facilities emerged this week.
Its building height is 45 metres, with 100,000 sq m of space open to the public and 35,000 tonnes of steel involved in the structure.
The roof is made of metal and glass, featuring the largest Ferrari logo ever created - it measures 65 m x 48.5 m.
Rides will be open to visitors, including the world's fastest roller coaster, which aims to make passengers feel like they are in a Formula 1 car. A driving and racing school for juniors is set to entertain would-be Jensen Buttons or Lewis Hamiltons, while there is also a flume ride through a simulated Ferrari 599 engine.
